An enthusiastic group of 13 riders on an eclectic (not electric) range of bikes turned up on a cool but fine Winter morning in Eastern Suburban “Donvale”.
The group was ably led by Peter “Paris-Dakar” Day along winding roads through Park Orchards, Wonga Park, Coldstream and Yarra Glen to the Beechworth Bakery at Healesville.
Following Brunch, we headed up to Toolangi, across to Kinglake, down the “Benchmark” to St. Andrews and on to Warrandyte for coffee & the conclusion of the ride.
It was very much a relaxing “saunter” type of ride. The distance was less than 95 miles (150km) but the quality of the roads was high and the group collectively enjoyed the ride and the company.
It was pleasing that at least 2 of the riders were new CIMAA members out for their first club ride. Great to see someone on a scooter with Robert Steer on his 1966 Vespa.
